HUGE MISTAKE!!

Finally talked Jason into taking a long weekend and we took the kids camping!  We invited some friends to come and go with us, but they didn't make it til the morning because of all the heat and humidity!  We still love them anyways!  We got to the campground just outside of Lawrence, KS and  found this great spot by the trees with a path close by to the lake!  Looks great, sounded like a great idea and we were really excited!
Putting up the tent was quick and easy!  I'm a pro what can I say!  The sweat dripping from my forehead and into my contacts and making my eyes burn, sting and blurry?  Not so great!  I had major BUTT sweat marks in my shorts and could barely tear my clothes off to try everything in my power to put my swim suit on so we could "COOL OFF!!"  Alas....we got the tent set up, swim suits on and made it to the lake!

This was the morning after the nightmare night!
We had Racoon's like crazy stalking our tent, picnic tables and surroundings!  The heat was so HORRIBLE that whenever we would roll over in bed we were soaked and woke up drenched!
I WAS READY TO GO HOME!!!!

Jason and Dylan chillin while waiting for dinner!

If you were wondering....Samie is still posing for every picture!

 My boys!!

  Future Male Model!

Dylan taking Daddy for a walk!

  Peyton, Kiley, Cooper and Samie!
The lake was MUD AND HOT!!

Dylan trying to wreck the kids sand/mud castle!

  My MAN!!

 My sweet/naughty boy!

Samie showing me her collection of rocks and shells that were NOT ALLOWED to come home with us!
I don't need more crap in the house!

Needless to say!  It was great to be able to get out of town and go camping and have fun with the kids!  The outside temp was around 103 plus the heat index so probably 106 or so!  At night it was around 94!  The lake water was about 88 degrees and the bottom was mud and you would sink and slip around!  WEIRD!  Camping here is going to be an adjustment!  We were also informed the ONLY time to camp here is in March/April and September/October!  So I'm sure we will try it ONE more time!
